Updates and/or new availability to existing products:

Belladonna

Belladonna:  the meaning of the word is ‘Beautiful Woman’. This is certainly a Beautiful Zoa!

Other common names include Belladonna, Belladonnas, Belladonna Zoa, Belladonna Zoanthid, Belladonna Paly, Belladonna Palys (although it is believed to be a Zoanthid).

Pastel Rainbow

Pastel Rainbow: They’re back! Sometimes the name just fits. This is not one of those times. Er wait. This is EXACTLY one of those times! This Paly can morph depending on tank parameters. Included are photos from different tanks.

Other common names include Pastel Rainbow, Pastel Rainbows, Pastel Rainbow Zoa, Pastel Rainbow Zoanthid, Pastel Rainbow Paly, Pastel Rainbow Palys (although it is believed to be a Paly).

Magician

Magician: Illusion, smoke and mirrors… The ever-popular Magicians!

Other common names include Magician, Magicians, Magician Zoa, Magician Zoanthid, Magician Paly, Magician Palys (although it is believed to be a Paly).

Australian Blue Ensign

Australian Blue Ensign: The Australian flag went through a lot of revisions before the Australian Blue Ensign was finalized. I’d like to think that this would be the national Australian Zoanthid upon first consideration. You can almost see the 6 stars in this frag shot! Very beautiful morph. Note: I used to consider this a small Zoanthid morph. But they’ve been getting larger having been in captivity longer. I now consider them a typical sized to slightly smaller than typical sized Zoa morph. (No longer to I consider them ‘small’.)

Other common names include Australian Blue Ensign, Australian Blue Ensigns, Australian Blue Ensign Zoa, Australian Blue Ensign Zoanthid, Australian Blue Ensign Paly, Australian Blue Ensign Palys (although it is believed to be a Zoanthid).

Big Zoanthid update!

Stock Updates No Comments »

Hi all, Jeremy (Who Dah?) here!

About a month ago, I was accused of holding back my Zoanthid collection from the site. Ugh! The nerve!!! OK – so maybe they were right.

I’ve spent the last month doing some exciting things, including acquiring some new morphs that I’ve never SEEN before that are simply incredible. We’ve got some of our new farmer pieces up as well. I’ve been shooting photos, reshooting photos, and then reshooting again. Fragging, gluing, and inventorying. (Even then, not all items have photos yet!) I’ve been verbiaging (that a word?) and describing each morph for you as well. I even coded a new, albeit simpler, coral page to showcase larger thumbnails and more morphs on one page. In the end, what did we come up with? A HUGE Zoanthid update! There’s new ones, classic ones (some I’ve had for years and never put on the site!), expensive ones, affordable ones, red ones, blue ones, morphs you probably haven’t seen before, and everything in between. All in all, as of this writing, we are presenting to you over ONE HUNDRED unique morphs in stock!

We suspect many morphs will sell out quick and that number will start dropping as supply cannot keep up with demand. (If only we could grow these faster!) So swing on by and check it out! You can now see our new farmer pieces and the entire Who Dah? collection available at ExoticFrags! (Well… MOST of it, anyways… )

Mille Madness now available!!!

Stock Updates No Comments »

We just added a new local farmer to ExoticFrags, DML08. His first piece: the Mille Madness!

DML08′s tank is a T5 lit tank. We are still attempting to reproduce the coloration he is able to achieve with our Halide lit tank. But the piece is so incredible in his tank that we thought it would warrant grabbing your attention!

:D

Check out the Mille Madness page for more details and frag availability.

What we feed our tanks, Featured Corals, and BA-CFM

Nifty things, Stock Updates, What We Use No Comments »

What we feed our tanks

We are often asked what we feed our tanks. Our fish we typically feed PE Mysis or H2O Life Mysis when we need a smaller version.  Arcti-Pods are also on our fish feeding list. We’ll use specialty foods when necessary to wing a finicky fish onto our standard foods. And of course we’ll put in strips of algae for our herbivores.

But of course when asked this question, the inquirer is more so interested in what we feed our corals. And the answer to that is: we love the Reef Nutrition lineup! More information on their foods can be seen here:

Reef Nutrition

Our favorites (in no particular order) are Arcti-Pods, Phyto Feast, Roti Feast, and Oyster Feast.

Reef Nutrition Lineup

We tyipcally global feed the tanks. Lately, Hector has been feeding all of these each day. Jeremy tends to cycle through one food a day on a continual rotating basis.

Featured Corals

We’ve got some nice Wildfire Monti’s from wishntoboutside. These are very bright in the tank!

We have some Pink Lemonade available again, woohoo!

As well as some nifty Jesus Echinata:

BA-CFM

We just got back from BA-CFM. Although we didn’t do many coral pickups, it was nice to visit with many of our friends. We did pickup a Monster sized Purple Monster frag from bent. Feel free to inquire if interested.

We are proud to finally release a frag of the Mummy Eye! It is currently up for auction on eBay and closes tomorrow (Sunday the 3rd) night. It can be seen and bid on here:

November/December Stock update

Stock Updates No Comments »

Man oh man, do we have a coral update!

Where do we begin… Shall we talk about Aussie Acans? Frags from the return of ExoticReefs? Perhaps about another forefather farmer sending in primo stuff? The ‘holy trilogy’ of SPS corals that we have replenished? Decisions decisions… Well, how about in the order mentioned?
Image

Aussie Acans: We have a ton of new Aussie Acans! So many in fact, that we made a nifty little page to showcase them (and a few other corals, but more on that in a moment…). These are colonies, not frags. These shots are WYSIWYG, and there are many to choose from! Here is a sampling:
Image Image

Oh, and you gotta check out this Scolymia. We only have 1!
Image

All of these and *many* more can be seen here on our special Acan Mayhem page:
http://www.exoticfrags.us/acan_mayhem.php

On that same page, you’ll see our first shipment of corals from… Get this… ExoticReefs! Yup yup, our good ol’ buddy (and partner) tubs is at it again, and we have some nifty pieces!

Check out this nifty monti. This is the first time it is being offered:
Image

Incredible blastos, yumas, and mini Dendros too!
Image

See them all on the same Acan Mayhem page:
http://www.exoticfrags.us/acan_mayhem.php

And welcome back SPStoner! He says, “hi” to you all, and offers ORA Bottle Brush, SPStoner echinata, tubs echinata, chalice, and much more.

ORA Bottle Brush:
Image

SPStoner Echinata:
Image

Check out all of his available corals here:
http://www.exoticfrags.us/corals.php?f=55

And yes, the primo frags ARE BACK. The unobtainable. The ones you never see for sale. The ones that have waiting lists for years… They are back, we have in stock, right now, the incredible: Pink Lemonade, Purple Monster, and IceFire Echinata!

You read that right… All three are in stock and available now! Even we had to take a moment to stop and appreciate the moment of the collective whole of these corals. Not only are they in our tanks at the same time, but available at the same time to boot!
Image

So come on by, check out the massive update here at:
http://www.ExoticFrags.us

We suspect that stock will fly off our frag racks quickly, so the sooner the better! Christmas is coming up. Great time for a gift, no? But just as happy as we are to celebrate Christmas and the new year with our friends and loved ones, we will be sad not being able to ship during the Christmas and New Year season. It’s just too risky for our corals and not worth the losses induced by delayed deliveries during the busiest shipping time of the year. Having said that, our last shipment date for 2007 will be December 12th. We will take a quick break to enjoy the holidays and resume shipping on January 9th of 2008. So get those orders in quick!

Thank you very much,
Hector & Jeremy
