November/December Stock update

Stock Updates No Comments »

Man oh man, do we have a coral update!

Where do we begin… Shall we talk about Aussie Acans? Frags from the return of ExoticReefs? Perhaps about another forefather farmer sending in primo stuff? The ‘holy trilogy’ of SPS corals that we have replenished? Decisions decisions… Well, how about in the order mentioned?
Image

Aussie Acans: We have a ton of new Aussie Acans! So many in fact, that we made a nifty little page to showcase them (and a few other corals, but more on that in a moment…). These are colonies, not frags. These shots are WYSIWYG, and there are many to choose from! Here is a sampling:
Image Image

Oh, and you gotta check out this Scolymia. We only have 1!
Image

All of these and *many* more can be seen here on our special Acan Mayhem page:
http://www.exoticfrags.us/acan_mayhem.php

On that same page, you’ll see our first shipment of corals from… Get this… ExoticReefs! Yup yup, our good ol’ buddy (and partner) tubs is at it again, and we have some nifty pieces!

Check out this nifty monti. This is the first time it is being offered:
Image

Incredible blastos, yumas, and mini Dendros too!
Image

See them all on the same Acan Mayhem page:
http://www.exoticfrags.us/acan_mayhem.php

And welcome back SPStoner! He says, “hi” to you all, and offers ORA Bottle Brush, SPStoner echinata, tubs echinata, chalice, and much more.

ORA Bottle Brush:

SPStoner Echinata:

Check out all of his available corals here:
http://www.exoticfrags.us/corals.php?f=55

And yes, the primo frags ARE BACK. The unobtainable. The ones you never see for sale. The ones that have waiting lists for years… They are back, we have in stock, right now, the incredible: Pink Lemonade, Purple Monster, and IceFire Echinata!

You read that right… All three are in stock and available now! Even we had to take a moment to stop and appreciate the moment of the collective whole of these corals. Not only are they in our tanks at the same time, but available at the same time to boot!
Image

So come on by, check out the massive update here at:
http://www.ExoticFrags.us

We suspect that stock will fly off our frag racks quickly, so the sooner the better! Christmas is coming up. Great time for a gift, no? But just as happy as we are to celebrate Christmas and the new year with our friends and loved ones, we will be sad not being able to ship during the Christmas and New Year season. It’s just too risky for our corals and not worth the losses induced by delayed deliveries during the busiest shipping time of the year. Having said that, our last shipment date for 2007 will be December 12th. We will take a quick break to enjoy the holidays and resume shipping on January 9th of 2008. So get those orders in quick!

Thank you very much,
Hector & Jeremy

Stock update – 2007.Oct: Fall is SPS Time

Stock Updates 2 Comments »

Fall is SPS Time

It has been slow the last couple of weeks over at Exoticfrags.  Jeremy and his wife have just returned from a SCUBA vacation.  Two weeks ago, My wife and I went on vacation. Needless to say, answering emails and shipping had to be put on the back burner for a little bit.  Now that we are back, we are ready to roll.  Of course, we didn’t forget about the site, we put together a very LARGE update.  We received large shipments from Greg Carroll and Karl Unarce.  As you may know, these guys are the kings of beautiful stony corals, but that wasn’t all.  Yesterday, we received a large shipment from Greg Hiller.

Greg Hiller, is a reefing pioneer.  He has been successfully keeping acropora for many years.  Greg is also a contributing author to the online magazine “Reefkeeping’s” “Frag of the Month” article.  He was one of Exoticreefs’ earliest farmers, and he has transitioned over to Exoticfrags.

So what did we get from everybody?

Well Greg Hiller supplies several frags of his always in demand Aqua Delight.  While we didn’t get any Blueberry frags (we tried, but the frags were looking rough in Greg’s tank), we got it’s kissing cousin, the Green Highlighter coral.  Other corals from Greg include the beautiful Palau Acro, with it’s distinct blue tips, and the Montipora Palawensis, this Reeffarmers LE is and intense apple green with purple polyps.  It’s a sleeper coral that will surprise you.

Take a sneak peak at Greg H’s corals before we transition the data over.

http://www.exoticreefs.us/farmer_greg_hiller.htm

Greg Carroll was kind of enough to fill some requests for us.  We now have the following corals in stock from Greg: Lime in the Sky, Ultimate Blue Stag, and  Acroberry (among other things).  The Acroberry is definitely a must have in any acro collection.  The Lime in the Sky, really doesn’t need any introduction, and they are looking incredible in Jeremy’s tank.  The Ultimate Stag isn’t an easy coral for Greg to frag.  We don’t have many in stock, and demand has been incredible.

We recommend snatching these up as soon as possible.   We don’t know when Greg will be fragging next, and Greg’s corals are in such demand, you’d think they were illegal.

Karl Unarce picked up a couple of other requests as well.

Karl sent us home with some Icefire echinata and True Undata.  He also supplied two new firsts for Exoticfrags, the 20,000 Leagues Lokani, and Eddie’s Purple Monster.

We used to shop at Eddie’s shop several years ago, and one thing was for certain.  Eddie had the “Eye” for nice corals. Read more on Eddie’s Purple Monster here:
http://www.reeffarmers.com/limitededdiespm.htm

Karl also provided several large frags of Pink Lemonade.  These frags are big (by PL standards).  Karl moved his colony and made several colonies from the base.  Pink Lemonade typically forms a large base before it branches, so half the work is done for you on these.

Exoticfrags will be bringing a new coral online as well.  Be on the lookout for the Montipora Setosa.  This coral has been propogated by Eric Camaano of fragfarmer.com.  I had the pleasure of seeing the mother colony in his shop, and it’s a knockout.  It’s growth structure is incredible.  So much so, that I never frag it.  This frag was accidentally made by who knows what in my tank (Jeremy’s guess is the reef trigger).  Luckily, I was able to find this frag and save it.  I was surprised at how big it was, and I am glad I was able to save it.

Shop around on the site when the update goes live in the next couple of days.  There will be quite to choose from.

Just got back from RAP!

Stock Updates No Comments »

Hi all!

We just returned from  Reef-A-Palooza down in Los Angeles. It was very interesting and the first booth ExoticFrags has setup at a coral convention. (We shared a booth with our friends over at Coral Cradle!) We had a chance to visit with several of our friends and farmers as well. I got to leak saltwater into Hector’s car which is always nifty to me.
Very shortly, there will be some new frags added to the site and replenishment of some existing favorites! For those of you who have been patiently waiting, we were able to grab a stash of original Sunset Monti’s too!

Stay tuned and the updates of Zoanthids and SPS will follow shortly. Oh – and don’t forget to sign-up to blog updates on the upper right-hand corner of this screen. You will get instant notifications of new posts and updates to your favorite corals’ availability here at ExoticFrags!

Thanks all,

Newsletter 2007-07-14: An Intro and Stock updates

Newsletters, Stock Updates No Comments »

The Following Post is a newsletter that went out 2007-07-14

Hello, and welcome to the first ExoticFrags.us newsletter!

Subscription Information
Chances are that you are on this list if you were subscribed to John’s (tubs) ExoticReefs.us email list. Perhaps you have already sent an email to us at ExoticFrags.us, or perhaps you have expressed interest to us in frags. In any case – welcome, and thank you!

Explanation of ExoticFrags.us
We would like to take this opportunity to give a brief history, description, and explain our relationships between ExoticReefs.us and ExoticFrags.us. Image

As you probably know, John (tubs) ran an incredible site consisting of a farming network known as ExoticReefs.us for several years. Hector (tacocat) and Jeremy (Who Dah?) were both farmers for John for a couple of years. John needed a break as many veteran aquarists do from time to time. (John has been in the hobby for over 15 years!) He began to talk about taking down his tanks. We were sad to hear about this turn of events, but understood. Then John shocked us by asking if we would take over his farming network that he had put so much time, energy, and effort into!

We were honored and after a brief pow-wow accepted John’s offer. And thus – ExoticFrags.us was born!

The destiny of the former site known as ExoticReefs.us is to become an Internet based retail venue. Information will become available to you as it becomes available to us! Most of John’s corals made it over to us in the interim.

And don’t worry – like a Tunze Wavebox against the side of a tank, we continue to nudge John to: get back in the hobby… get back in the hobby… get back in the hobby… Image

John continues with us as a partner in ExoticFrags.us as well.

Our Corals
A long time in the making, ExoticFrags.us has been open for business for a few months now. We wanted to create an artistic and exotic site to serve our ExoticFrags.us customers! Functionality and Usability experts can check their bags at the door, and we hope you enjoy the site’s and graphic artist’s unique appeal! Image Several of the pillar farmers have already begun sending in frags and it is very exciting! Purple Monster, Icefire Echinata, and Superman Digis & Danae’s from BenT; Miami Orchid, Acroberry, and Uknown Stags from gcarrol; Pink Lemonade, Candlelight Acro and Icefire Echinata from unarce; Superman Danae, Tyree (tubs) alien eye, Rasta Echino, and tubs Halloween Monti from tubs (oh yes, he still has corals with us! Image ).

Of course Who Dah? and tacocat have continued farming with corals such as Who Dah?’s Cat Eyes, Sour Apples, Pink Zippers, and Purple Death or tacocat’s Cyphastreas, and ORA Blue Polyped Acro.

And new farmers are bringing things to the table as well! Da6d2003 has contributed his famous Nuclear Green Palys, Candy Apple Reds, and Fire & Ice Zoanthids. thefishstore has brought in a few Aussie Acans for us as well!

Many other corals are presented by ExoticFrags.us for a slew of other farmers as well.

Our Future
As the farming network continues to grow with new farmers and former pillar farmers continue to resurface providing incredible corals, you can expect to see ExoticFrags.us‘ selection grow with no end in sight! We eagerly look forward to helping you establish your dream coral collection provided by top notch aquarists throughout the United States.
